The church office will be closed this Friday, July 3, 2009.

First Fridays: Due to the holiday weekend -- there will be no First Friday for the month of July. Please join us next month at our usual place and time.

Tower Chimes: The July's Tower Chimes is available pdf.

Broadway UMC Stories: David Brodsky has created a blog that is the central point for telling the stories of the people, ideas, and whatever else positive that is happening in the community. The blog will not be the only tool used to make the stories visible, we will be hanging photos and stories throughout the church but this will allow all the information and stories to be in one spot. broadwayumcstories.blogspot.com

Softball: Broadway’s softball team, the BUM’s, play at Riverside Park (Riverside Drive & West 29th Street) on either Diamond 1 or 3. Bring your lawn chairs as there may not be bleachers. Come and be a player or a cheering fan!

Celebration Service: As a result of conversations with children, youth, and their parents, we are embarking on an eight-week experimental service that is multi-generational, casual, and upbeat. We will be begin August 9th and run through the end of September (27th) at 9:30 a.m. in the Coffee House (Wesley Room). This service is open to everyone. Right now we need people to make a commitment to attending Celebration for these 8 weeks. Come and participate and give us your feedback.

Worship Planning Meeting: For those who would like to give input in our weekly worship service, you are encouraged to attend this meeting Tuesdays at 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Hospitality Table Volunteers: We are seeking volunteers to run the hospitality table after the 10:45 a.m. worship service. All food and beverages are provided; volunteers are responsible for minimal set-up/clean-up and working the table. If you’re interested, please contact the church office at (317) 924-4207.

Altar Flowers: If you’re interested in donating altar flowers in honor or in memory of a friend or loved one during the months or July, August, or September, please contact Joanne Solomon.

Naming...Blessing...Connecting! As part of our Jubilee Summer, we’ve turned the old “Thrift Shop” space into the Jubilee Summer Space, creating a place where ideas and creativity are exchanged. We’re asking people to write down the names of people they know and the gifts they have, things they care about, and things they are willing to do. The walls have been lined with paper, and markers are available, so stop by and post your ideas!

Namaste: Shannon Abbott leads a Hatha Yoga class at Broadway each Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in Room 312. The class is free, but donations are accepted with proceeds going to The Zawadi Exchange.

Broadway Cookbooks the Perfect Gift! UMW are selling Broadway cookbooks. Pick yours up for only $15.00; they make great gifts! For more information, please contact Ellie Gramer, Joanne Solomon, or Pat Pearson, or stop by the Searchers Class on Sunday morning.
