Celebration of Life of Lois Palmer: Celebration of the life of Lois PalmerA service in celebration of the life of Lois Palmer (who passed away February 7th) will take place on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at Flanner & Buchanan Funeral Center-Carmel. Services will begin at 10:00 a.m. The service is closed casket. Flanner & Buchanan Funeral Center is located at 325 E. Carmel Dr, Carmel, IN 46032.

UMW Day of Prayer and Self Denial: Mark your calendars! The United Methodist Women will hold a service on Saturday, February 11th in support of the annual Day of Prayer and Self Denial in Broadway’s Parlor. Stay tuned...more details will be available in the upcoming weeks.

Jesus Ate and Drank -- Community Meal: Our next Community Dinner will be Sunday, February 12th following the 10:45 a.m. worship service. Barb Taylor will be providing the meal. Following the meal, at 1:00 p.m., all are welcome and invited to stay for a conversation about recent decisions regarding how we plan to use our resources at Broadway to carry out our mission. We’ll look at both this year and the next couple of years. We look forward to seeing you at either or both gatherings.

Bible Study: No Bible Study on Feb. 14th (off for Valentine's day) we will meet on the 21st! Bible Study with Rev. Mike Mather meets on Tuesday evenings for one hour beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the Community Room of Broadway UMC. Each week will cover a Biblical Story, Joseph in Egypt. If you wish to come to one or more of these, you are more than welcome! Come every week -- learn the stories of our faith, meet others in the congregation, and talk together about meaningful things.

Take Control of Your Health: Tuesday, February 14th - Broadway will host a preventive health screening event, for residents in and around our community. This event is also being sponsored by St. Francis Heart Center. Life Line Screening will perform screenings for: carotid artery blockage, peripheral arterial disease, atrial fibrillation, osteoporosis, and abdominal aortic aneurysm. “Butterflies” Support Group: Wednesday, February 22nd - The “Butterflies,” a transgendered support group run by Rose Dawson, will meet at Broadway each Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., beginning on February 22nd. Please tell any transgendered persons you know who live in the Metro-Indianapolis area or within driving distance to Broadway to contact Rose at (317) 492-0031 for more information or to sign up to attend the meetings. At this time, meetings are free but may include small fees later. Thanks to Broadway church and the congregation for their help and support!

Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual Support Group: A gay, lesbian, bisexual support group will start Thursday, March 1, 6:00 - 7:30 pm at the home of Mike Schaefer. It will go for 8 weeks (skipping Holy week, April 5), ending April 26th. If interested, contact Rev. Rachel Metheny.

Bell Choir and Chancel Choir Rehearsals Every Wednesday: The Bell Choir meets at 6:30 p.m. followed by Chancel Choir at 7:15 p.m. For more information, please contact Dave Morton.

Worship Planning Meeting: For those who would like to give input in our weekly worship service, you are encouraged to attend this meeting Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.

Hospitality Table Volunteers: We are seeking volunteers to run the hospitality table after the 10:45 a.m. worship service. All food and beverages are provided; volunteers are responsible for minimal set-up/clean-up and working the table. If you’re interested, please contact the church office at (317) 924-4207.
