OUR PASSION
We are a community of people serving youth by:
- Engaging them with a positive focus.
- Offering positive role models and nurturing healthy relationships.
- Bridging gaps: generational, racial, cultural.
- Encouraging confidence, commitment, competence and creativity.
- Strengthening self-esteem as capable people and contributors to the world.
- Developing good character, values and work habits and a commitment to community service.

CAN YOU SEE IT, TOO?
- We envision a community in which kids have the power and pride of owning and caring for their own bikes, because they have “built” their bikes themselves.
- We imagine the joy and freedom that come from riding bicycles safely and with skill.
- We dream of families riding together on the green way system.
- We see individuals coming together around a common activity and forming friendships.
- And we see a more self-reliant community where people are using safe and reliable bikes to commute to work and other places, improving their health, the health of the planet, and feeling more alive!

- In the Earn-a-bike program, we will build competence, character and community while building bikes.
- We will be a source of good quality, safe, reliable bikes at minimal cost for those who need them.
- We will provide low-cost bike repairs.
- We will be a “clubhouse” for the bike riders of the neighborhood, encouraging friendships between individuals of all races, generations and cultures.
- We will sponsor club rides to encourage friendships and fitness.
The cooperative costs $15 per family and entitles the members to participate in rides, classes and discounts. Members may also “trade up” from one of our bikes to a better bike.
JUST FOR YOU
Our Earn-a-Bike program is for kids, age 10-15. It is held on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 3-6, and Saturdays from 1-4. By spending about 30 hours in this program, kids can learn amazing things about bikes and go home with their own bike, lock and helmet.
Our shop is open on Saturday mornings from 10-12 for minor repairs and bike sales. Repairs, parts and bikes may be purchased either with cash or shop time worked.
WE WELCOME YOU
Please come in and visit, but also consider offering your gifts to the cooperative. We need:

- tinkerers and mechanics
- helpers and customers
- welders
- spray-painters
- grant-writers
- sorters
- mentors
- cyclists
- photographers
- event planners
- refreshment bringers
- whatever you bring to the table!
