Dreaming with the Community
The Broadway Administrative Board has approved and adopted the recommendations of the Mission Task Force to strengthen mission and ministry in our church, neighborhood, city, and world. The Mission Task Force calls us to strengthen the depth and impact of what we are doing in the Broadway neighborhood: involving the neighbors, calling forth the gifts of God in their lives for the strengthening of their life in this neighborhood, and investing in and supporting those dreams and gifts. The people of Broadway have made a commitment to carry out these ministries with excellence and consistent evaluation for strengthening the good work we have done across the years.
Through The Miracle on 29th Street, a new Pastor of Mission will join our clergy team to facilitate mission work in our neighborhood and in the world, with the aims of increasing our members’ awareness and involvement in mission, expanding the ethnic and economic diversity of Broadway’s membership, and fostering societal change throughout Indianapolis, in our neighborhood, and in our congregation. The Pastor of Mission will also work with members of the community to create innovative opportunities in areas such as neighborhood economic development, arts experiences, and health promotion.
