Rev. Mike Mather - Senior Pastor: Rev. Mather (Mike to his friends, wife, and imaginary pets) has been the pastor at Broadway since 2003. But it is his second tenure here. He served here at Broadway from 1986-2001. Then he was sent to serve another church named Broadway in South Bend. Then he was sent back to this Broadway in 2004 (the Bishop thinks he can only serve churches named Broadway). Mike is married to Kathy and they have two sons -- Jordan (13 -- who is in school at Shortridge Middle School) and Conor (18 - graduated from Arsenal Technical High School in 2007 and attending Centre College). Mike has written a booklet entitled "Sharing Stories, Shaping Community." Email |

Dr. Rachel Metheny - Associate Pastor: Rev. Rachel has been around Broadway for over 12 years. She first served as the urban intern while attending Christian Theological Seminary (1990-1994). She returned in 1999, to serve as one of the pastors. She is excited to work again with familiar faces, to serve a church where there is real spiritual depth, and to worship with her family, Grace and Anne. In her spare time, Rachel loves to read, take walks, cook, and spend time with her family, which also includes 3 dogs and 1 cat. Email |

Rev. Suhyoung Baik - Korean Pastor: Rev. Baik has served as Pastor of the Korean congregation for 15 years. He also works in the area of Senior Outreach Ministries. He has been married to Sunboon Baik for over fifty years. Sunboon is the Executive Director of Asian Help Services of Broadway. Email |

Chad R. Abbott - Director of Development: Chad has been connected to Broadway since 2008 with his wife, Shannon, daughter Isa, and forthcoming son, Solomon. A graduate of Princeton Theological Seminary and Greenville College, Chad has mostly served United Methodist congregations as both an associate and senior pastor. He is an ordained priest through the Interdenominational Conference of Liberation Congregations and Ministries. He most recently spent time working with the Mid North Shepherd's Center, an interfaith non-profit ministry connecting senior adults. Chad is a published author co-editing his own book "Breaking Silence" in 2004 on the church and non-violence and contributed a chapter to Brian McClaren's book "The Justice Project." Besides working at Broadway, Chad is also a massage therapist, a vegan, loves to play frisbee golf, garden, and listens to jazz music. Email |

Darlene Aquirre - Administrative Assistant Emeritus: Darlene has worked at Broadway for 23 years. She says that, "Broadway is a wonderful place to be because of the love and acceptance of all people." Her favorite Scripture is Hebrews 13:2: "Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unaware." Email |

Duane Carlisle - Children and Youth Pastor: Duane Carlisle has been a member of Broadway since 2000. He and his partner, Todd Pickard, have two beautiful children, Daniel and Marimar. Duane has been blessed with being a full time, stay at home dad for the past several years and now has the privilege of working with the children, youth and families in the parish. In his spare time he loves to make pottery in his home studio and also enjoys cooking and entertaining. What Duane loves most about Broadway is the way it celebrates all people and values their gifts and talents. Email |

Randy Ficklin - Custodial Staff: Randy is a custodian at Broadway. He was born in Mississippi and moved to Indianapolis in 1975. Randy has a 15 year old son, and likes fishing, hunting and spending time with family and friends. "It's a real pleasure working for BUMC." Email |

Karen McAleavey - Administrative Assistant: Karen and her husband, Marc, became Mapleton Fall Creek neighbors in September 2003 when they purchased a home just four blocks from the church. After stumbling across a Jubilee Summer Program photography exhibit in the Glendale Mall in the summer of 2005, they began attending Broadway and became members just a few months later. Karen is a graduate of Butler University and spent six years in the commercial real estate field before changing career paths. Now Karen is excited to join Broadway's staff as an administrative assistant with her own assistant--her infant son, Max! If you're ever in the church office, be sure to drop by and say, "Hello!" Kevin Neel - Associate Director of Music: Kevin is an undergraduate student at the Jacob’s School of Music at Indiana University in Bloomington where he studies organ with Dr. Janette Fishell. Kevin grew up in Fort Mill, South Carolina. He has extensive experience in piano and organ, attending many summer courses (Pipe Organ Encounters, Organ Camps at Westminster Choir College and Oberlin College, the Royal School of Church Music). He also has experience in composition, musical theatre and dance. He maintains a near 4.0 GPA in his studies and is the Sub-Dean of the Bloomington Chapter of the American Guild of Organists. Kevin’s position at Broadway Church is fully funded by the Miracle on 29th Street. His duties will include accompanying the Chancel Choir rehearsals on Wednesday evenings, accompanying the choir anthems during the 10:45 service, as well as occasionally playing hymns and other music during the 10:45 service. He will have the opportunity to observe and conduct the Children & Youth Choir and the Handbell Choir. Email |

Jeffery Perkins - Administrative Assistant: Born the youngest child of a Baptist preacher, Jeffery was raised in the church by two loving parents, four siblings, and the entire congregation. From his earliest years he had a dream of becoming a funeral director, but somehow he ended up at Purdue University studying engineering. After graduating from Purdue and working in San Francisco as an engineer he decided to return to the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. The last 15 year of his life he has been serving families through embalming, coordinating and conducting funeral services. Currently Jeffery is the Administrative Assistant to Rev. Chris Schroeder - Minister of Music/Organist: As the full time director of musical activities at Broadway Church, Chris stays busy planning, coordinating, rehearsing and creating music with the supportive Broadway staff and the many wonderful volunteers who share their musical talents throughout the year through the many musical opportunities available at Broadway. Though he misses the atmosphere of higher education, Chris is glad to have completed his undergraduate and graduate degrees in Organ Performance and Church Music at Indiana University. Jim Fore - Web-servant / Minister of Sound and Light: Jim came to Broadway in the early 1990s after visiting several churches looking for a church that embraces his beliefs. He has worked in the telecommunication business for many years. In 1997 he started volunteering as the sound tech for the 10:45 worship service. He recently received his Masters in Media Arts and Science focusing on multimedia and web design. Jim became responsible for Broadway's website during the summer of 2006 and is the process of implementing new features. Email |
