4th Sunday After Pentecost

Luke's Gospel for today sees Jesus sending out the 72 two-by-two with nothing to sustain them but each other and the peace of God. Jesus does not say, "Sit back and wait until for the water recedes. Wait for more suitable weather." No, he says, "Go!" And when people receive you, offer them peace. If they reject it, "Then shake the dust off of your feet and move on." Today be uplifted by the reality that we bearers of the kindom of God by our going AND by shaking off the dust of anything and anyone who stands in the way of justice.
